Ekene's life in Lockdown

Amidst the outbreak of the corona virus and it's ability to make even the greatest of men locked up in their apartments. We decided to curate various tales of people living in lockdown across the globe, so you know you're not aloneand of course, laugh. Here's Asher Ekene's Lockdown Tale ,You're welcome!

May the readers know a bit about You?, your hobbies and favourite places to go?.

Hi I don’t take myself seriously. My name is Asherekene Onyekwere (no relations) fine girls say I’m a tall glass of dark chocolate, but my sister thinks I’m just black.
I’m a ‘Creative’, my favorite places to go? Leemao, I laugh in home-to-work-to-school.

How was your life before this all happened, you know the Lockdown?.

My life was breathless! I was planning talk shows, designing graphic and film projects, just doing the most!

And how's life been now that you're stuck home?.

Well, it have humble the boy. Even this past week was a lot to survive; see—my laptop crashed and I can’t work from home no more. I do pretty well in isolation, but not without work! Haba, I need the rest of my family to get back to not being so ‘around’

what's a day in Ekene’s life post virus outbreak?
What’s a day like?

Lmao bruhhhh days have lost names and days don’t matter no more, and I’m locked up with my beautiful family; how do you expect my days to look like? Bro I’m drowning in
sleep plis!

Since we've got enough time to learn new skills and achieve procrastinated goals, what have you been up to?.

Me? Omo I’ve been setting new procrastinating goals. I barely make it to the deadlines For my podcast! Ohh and while you are here make sure you listen to W hen T hey F ail!

And what would you say has been your coping mechanism through it all?

I write a lot, I think and strategize a lot even though procrastination will never let me be great.

Be honest, on a scale of having conversations in your head and arguing with your furniture, how insane has the lockdown gotten You?.
Great question, Is say somewhere around having convos in my head. See, I write scripts in my spare time and writing dialogue needs a little madness yunno.

Have you fought with any relatives or your parents yet?, or have you been tagged the family's bad sheep?.

Speaking from a black sheep point of view; truss I have had altercations. But the violence happens much more in my head—I don’t think the Nigerian prison will suit my skin tone.

Although few, there are noticeable perks of staying at home, like bonding with siblings and discovering hidden talents. What could you say has been an advantage of you staying indoors?.

I love being indoors walahi, but now that bonding and other irritations have been added to the mix, Plus lappy wey don crash; the only perk has lost value. Talent ke? Scoffs* I’m 26 years old ma’am, my center for talent-synthesis has wrinkled and died a cold natural death.
Well that'll be all, thanks for your candidness. Stay safe and well!
